Our Story

“My goal is to connect with the viewer in a way to tell stories of those whose impact has resonated with me and imprinted on my rolodex of life experiences.”

Beautiful notes from Jerry rigged record players, passed down through generations of prideful possessions, was a constant throughout my childhood. Records that managed through slight scratches hold the static sounds that shape the thoughts and impressions of my youthful screenplay. Billie Holiday, Satchmo, MIles Davis, Nina Simone… they all hold the crank to the visuals that play on my recurring theme.

The glue that manages to piece these moments together is the desire to create. My artwork speaks to the impactful pieces of my life. It also speaks to the influential notes that I derive inspiration from to manage the colorful notes throughout. Langston Hughes once wrote, “Life ain't been no crystal stair… But I’se been climbing.” My work speaks to the cultural impact that has shaped me and the importance of creating art that is representative of who I am and what I desire to see in the world. My goal is to create visuals of those whose stories resonate with me and inspire me to continue to look within. My goal of connecting with the viewer in this way is Contemporary Expressionism. Capturing the energy and feel of the subject matter through the usage of bold imagery, color and mood is my outward expression of internal self.

I’m a contemporary expressionist portrait painter out of Kentucky. I’ve served as an educator since 2008 in various roles, from Special Needs instructor to an Administrator. My work has been collected all over the world, shown in various exhibits, but I am most notably a traveling artist.

I travel to festivals mostly in the midwest regions. I frequent the cities of Louisville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Nashville, St. Louis and other smaller areas near by. I love the opportunity to connect with people and share the vision and mission of my art. I also appreciate the opportunity of extending my family. When someone collects a piece of my artwork, they become an extension of my family due to obtaining a piece of me. These blessed opportunities are never taken for granted and I look forward creating more of them in the future.
